Great E-Cover Creation in 5 Steps

There are several graphic software packages available to help you create your own e-covers for your product or service. Most provide you with a set of templates to choose from, and have varying degrees to allow you to modify the templates provided. Regardless of which package you're using there are 5 other important steps to consider when design an e-book cover, graphics for a software package or other product graphics.

These five steps deal with the effect you want your graphic to have on your prospect. Each step is briefly described below.

Identify the desire, need or fear your product or service affects. Many people attempting to sell their products on the internet aren't aware of a basic fact of marketing on or off the internet. That fact is ? People buy based upon their emotions. Next they justify the purchase with logic or benefits. Your graphics should satisfy the emotional desire. It should be a visual of their desire being met, their need being filled, or their fears being calmed. Once the emotion that your product or service is serving is identified. Begin to list possible visuals to show this action.

Choose the colors to enhance the emotions you want to evoke Now that you have a general idea of the graphics you want, you should consider the colors you will use. Make sure the colors appropriately trigger the desired emotion. Use this thought process when choosing the picture, the background color and even the color of the type.

Create the picture of your prospect fulfilling his desire, filling his need, or calming his fear. Arrange the title, background color, style, and the picture to come together into a smooth and powerful creation radiating the satisfied emotions of your prospect. Place the cover in the most effective area of your website and other areas where you advertise. This step is simple and straightforward.

Content - the Key to Long Term Success
Every day internet marketers are inundated with the latest fad or must have program. But the one tried and true asset which is vitally important to the long term success of your online business is valuable CONTENT. In fact, content can do more to build your business and profits than just about any other resource or service available.
Make Your Site Quick To Load!
The time it takes to load your site can make or break a visitor's first impression of your site. If your site takes too long to load, the visitor will click "Stop" or "Back" and leave your web site. If you are a business and offering people important information, it is critical to have a nice design, with a quick load time.
Tableless Web Designs: Why I Switched
Since I made the switch 6 months ago to a tableless design on my main site, I've noticed some interesting things: My search engine rankings have dramatically improved My bandwidth usage has dropped about 50-75% I can now make changes to the look and feel of my site easily by just changing the one file, the stylesheet. Let's look at why my search engine rankings improved. Now that I have less un-indexable code on my pages, the search engines can now spider my site quicker. Less code, more content, therefore a better ranking. Makes sense, doesn't it? Bandwidth costs money, and unless you have a really good hosting plan with lots of bandwidth, then your larger files will take up more room on your server, and take a lot longer to load. Tableless designs use up considerably less bandwidth and are more accessible. Every once in a while I may want to alter the look of my site. I like to change font colors, link colors, menu items, etc? Before I started using tableless designs, these changes took me hours to do. Now I just open up my stylesheet, make the changes I want, and in a few minutes I have my site updated with the new look and feel. It's so easy! For a client who wants to make their own changes, tableless designs could literally save them thousands on tech costs. Most of my clients still want sites with tables. I now give them the choice of either style. After all, the customer needs to be happy, right? Some people have the misconception that utilizing tableless designs means having a boring and less graphical site. Nothing could be further from the truth. Take a look at one of my favorite websites: http://www.csszengarden.com/. At that site you can really appreciate what can be accomplished through css-based tableless designs. Beautiful! Make the switch to a more profitable, usable, and accessible website! Copyright 2005 - Karen Blundell

How to Make Effective Use of Web Fonts
Writing for your web site is not the same as offline writing. The fonts used for print media are different than web fonts. This is because it's harder to read text on a computer screen and visitors tend to scan your web pages rather than read them word for word. When deciding on what web font to use, take into consideration the character of your site and whether the web font type is widely available (accomodates different screens and operating systems).
Keyword Density
We can't emphasize enough the importance of including keyword-rich content on your site to increase your ranking potential.
